A score of people have obtained their diploma by successfully passing the training actions of the Local Gypsy Development Plan.
Specifically, a dozen students have achieved the title of "Logistics Operator", which will allow them to work as warehouse assistants.
The course had 50 teaching hours and was developed during the months of March, April and May in the Youth Area of ​​Puerto Lumbreras.
In this period, participants learned how to perform auxiliary operations of warehouse, reception, basic location, preparation and dispatch of loads and downloads in a coordinating manner or in a team, applying the appropriate procedures and equipment, while respecting safety regulations. health and prevention of occupational risks.
Obtaining this qualification allows students to perform jobs such as cargo porters, warehouse waiters, truck drivers / operators, packers, packers, logistics operators and transport operators in general.
On the other hand, 12 students have acquired the title of "Food Handler".
By taking this training action, students have become aware of the dangers of food contamination and have learned the causes of food poisoning in order to prevent them.
In addition, they have learned the rules of personal hygiene that a food handler must have and carry out cleaning operations in a safe and hygienic way.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, attended the presentation of diplomas and stressed that "with this type of training initiatives we intend to advance in the social inclusion of the Roma community".
Tunisia explained that "the lack of qualification, together with the deficit in access to new technologies, is one of the main barriers in the incorporation of the Roma population into the labor market".
Finally, it should be noted that the objective of the Local Gypsy Development Plan is to facilitate the job search process, the acquisition and improvement of the labor skills necessary for the performance of professions with great demand in the current labor market.
