The City Council renews the agreement with the association lumbrerense of Alzheimer's patients ALDEA (10/09/2018)

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras and the ALDEA association of Alzheimer patients have renewed the collaboration agreement for the care of the sick in the municipality.

The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, and the president of the association, Modestina Díaz, have formalized the agreement.

The signing of this agreement allows improving the quality of life of people suffering from Alzheimer's in the locality.

The City Council supports the objectives of the association and collaborates with the entity in the granting of a grant of 10,200 euros.

The mayor stressed that "we will continue to collaborate with the groups and associations that need it most to improve the welfare of the sick, their caregivers and their families."

The association will present a program of actions that, at a minimum, will have information and individualized counseling actions for family members of Alzheimer's patients;

participation and intervention actions with patients;

informative and orientative talks towards this group.

These activities must be carried out by qualified technical personnel and in coordination are the Social Services of the City Council.

In addition, the association will organize activities to raise funds, as is the case of the squad meeting to be held on Sunday, September 16 at 4.30 pm in the auditorium of the Cultural Center.

On the other hand, through this agreement, the City Council gives the association the use of a place located on Doctor Jiménez Díaz street for the development of activities and the provision of services to Alzheimer's patients and their families.

The Aldea Association is a non-profit organization constituted in November 2006 and made up of relatives of Alzheimer's patients and professionals from various fields such as Psychology, Physiotherapy, Social Work and other disciplines involved in the care of Alzheimer's patients.

The main objective of the entity is to provide comprehensive advice to family members of Alzheimer's patients, as well as psychological assistance to them, and to improve assistance to patients in order to ensure that their quality of life is as high as possible.

To achieve these objectives, ALDEA develops information campaigns, family support programs and activities for the patient, in addition to those developed by Social Services.
