The General Secretary of the Socialist Party of Puerto Lumbreras was elected by acclamation of the militants, in the extraordinary assembly of the PSOE of Puerto Lumbreras that was held in the afternoon yesterday, to be the candidate for mayor of the municipality in the next municipal elections that will be held in May next year.

María Rosa García, (Puerto Lumbreras, 1981), mother of two girls, has a degree in law from the University of Murcia and works in her professional office in Puerto Lumbreras as a lawyer and administrator of farms since 2008. She has actively participated in the associative field business, being secretary general of Guadalentín Emprende and vice president of ASEPLU.

Currently, he is part of the School Council of the Sacred Heart School.

María Rosa García, clearly marked by the political career of her father, Emilio García, has assured in an act, before almost all the militants of her group, that she has "the illusion, values ​​and vocation of public service that has been instilled, in addition to the training and work experience necessary to take on this enormous challenge "and has stated that its main objective is that" the PSOE again win elections in the municipality and govern so that the people in which he was born is again a people with a future ".

At the same time, María Rosa has indicated her intention to create "a candidacy integrated by people with capacity for work and effort, referents from different social areas, committed to good management, always putting the interests of Puerto Lumbreras and its citizens first".

Finally, María Rosa García wanted to appeal to the militancy to participate in this process until May 2019, since "we are all necessary in this way and we need to prepare a real project for Puerto Lumbreras." We will work for our people to recover its essence and the little things that make a nice town and then keep walking ".
