The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras and the Astronomical Association of the Region of Murcia, Astromurcia, have celebrated during this weekend the II Basic Course of Astronomy in the Astronomical Observatory 'Cabezo de la Jara'.
Some facilities with unique characteristics throughout the Region of Murcia and that are also located in a privileged space for the observation of the sky.
In this ideal environment, some thirty people have been able to enjoy this training initiative free of charge, which reaches its second edition.
The different contents to be discussed have been divided into two days, Friday and Saturday, with three sessions.
In them, Astromurcia professionals have made an introduction to this science, scrutinizing part of its history as well as the different forms of astronomical observation, telescopes, the concept of electromagnetic spectrum or the elements necessary for the best planning of an observation session .
For those interested in Astronomy, the Observatory 'Cabezo de la Jara' remains open throughout the year, carrying out various activities.
In the case of the next scheduled visits for November 24 and December 29 at 7:00 p.m.
Visits that extend until the month of May the last Saturday of each month, and reinforcing them from June 15 to September 15 with visits every Wednesday and Saturday of the month.
On November 23, the Observatory 'Cabezo de la Jara' welcomes the visit of the School Our Lady of the Fuensanta - Jesus Maria of Murcia, and on Thursday December 13, the IES Valle del Segura de Blanca.
Reservations for groups must be made at least 5 days in advance.
