The PP of Puerto Lumbreras presents a motion of support to the regional and local transport sector (27/11/2018)

The Popular Party of Puerto Lumbreras will present a motion at the next Municipal Plenary, which will be held today at 8:00 pm, in support of the transport sector.

The local PP will urge the Government of the nation to approve bonuses in the tolls for professional drivers.

This initiative comes after the government's decision to prohibit trucks and other heavy vehicles from traveling on national roads and forcing them to divert their routes on toll roads.

Similarly, in the motion will request the construction of safe rest areas for professionals to make the mandatory stops without risk, as well as the rectification of the new diesel tax that, according to the popular spokeswoman, Dolores Arenas, "will help suffocate even more to a sector that already supports a very high taxation ".

Arenas stressed that "the Government of Pedro Sanchez, in its fundraising effort, forces transporters in the region to use toll roads from Valencia.

The measure, beyond expressing a clear intention to obtain income to meet the payments owed to nationalists and populists, is a grievance to a sector and some professionals who seem to be in the sights of the Socialist Executive ".

The local PP has shown its absolute refusal to the measures of the Government of the nation and supports the regional and local transport sector.

"The transport of goods by road is essential for economic development.

We can not remain impassive in the face of what is undoubtedly a serious attack on a sector with a high weight in the economy ", concluded Dolores Arenas.

According to data from the Regional Federation of Transport Business Organizations of Murcia (Froet), the number of transport companies in the Region of Murcia increased by 0.8% last year, especially highlighting the increase in light commercial vehicles.

Regarding the number of vehicles, the growth of the regional sector (7.9%) exceeds the national average by more than one point (6.8%).

In the Region there are 18,128 vehicles with a transportation license.

In addition, Murcia continues to lead the Top 10 ranking of refrigerated semi-trailers by provinces, with 4,381, which is 16.34% of the national total.

In the case of Puerto Lumbreras, the number of vehicles used to transport goods exceeds 2,300.
