The children of the Purísima Concepción school present the book "My grandfather told me" (16/12/2018)

The renowned writer Juan Ramón Barat attended the presentation

The Sociocultural Center of the Hermitage hosted yesterday the presentation of the book "My grandfather told me ...", edited by the Association of Mothers and Parents of Students (AMPA) of the Purísima Concepción School of La Estación-Esparragal.

The work collects the stories that school children have written during the last three years for the literary contest "My grandfather told me", organized by the association, coinciding with the celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, patron of the locality lumbrerense.

The publication reflects the history and traditions of the district of El Esparragal from the particular vision that children have, thanks to the teachings they have received from their grandparents.

Promote literary activity, protect intangible property, promote the rapprochement between generations and value the rural heritage in a novel and attractive way for citizens, are some of the objectives pursued by this project.

The Councilor for Culture, Mª Victoria Jerez, praised the work of the children who participated, as well as the work of the Ampa for the organization of this project with Purificación Gázquez at the head as president.

Jerez affirms that "this book will be an indispensable volume in the homes of the municipality that will allow to discover, throughout its pages, the emblematic buildings of the area, the local gastronomy, outstanding personalities, anecdotes, curiosities, customs and even the typical expressions of the tongue".

The renowned writer Juan Ramón Barat attended the presentation.

Poet, playwright and Spanish philologist who stands out for his novels aimed at the young public.

The act has also been enlivened by the gang of El Esparragal.

Those interested in obtaining a copy can get it at the Public School Purísima Concepción or at the Municipal Offices of La Estación-Esparragal.

The publication of this work is subsidized by 90% by the Association for Rural Development Campoder, with an investment of 5,097.04 euros plus VAT.

The president of the Ampa, Purificación Gázquez, explained that "the stories will have a beautiful butterfly effect: under the slogan" from a story a book comes out and a book comes out a library ", we intend that all people who withdraw a copy have to donate the amount of three euros to improve the bibliographic collection of the Purísima Concepción school, so other children will benefit from the publication of this publication, which is, a little bit, of all the neighbors of El Esparragal ".
