200 children will start for the first time the school year in Puerto Lumbreras (03/06/2019)

Puerto Lumbreras plans to increase its enrollment rate in children with the addition of approximately 200 three-year-old children to public schools in the school year 2019/2020.

Last year, 180 three-year-old children began their schooling for the first time, which was an increase of 9% over the previous year.

This year, the upward trend returns to occur in the next course that will begin on September 9 in Puerto Lumbreras and will have a dozen classrooms for children of three years in the four public schools.

On the other hand, the municipality has about 600 children from 0 to 3 years.

"Although schooling in this educational stage is not compulsory, many parents decide to enroll their children in the Municipal Nursery Network as a measure of work and family reconciliation and as a benefit for the cognitive development of the children", she said. highlighted the Councilor for Education and Equal Opportunities acting, Sonia Lopez.

The Municipal Network of Infantile Schools offers a wide range of services with assistance, assistance and education for children from 4 months to 12 years with highly trained and qualified personnel.

The Network has four centers located next to each public school of the municipality.

Among the main services is the morning service from 07:30, collection and transfer to the four schools attached to day care, English classes, daycare service for hours, psychopedagogical counseling for families, introduction to new technologies, workshops for fathers and mothers and adaptation period for children who start school.

The course 2018/2019 registered an increase in the number of registrations in the Municipal Nursery Network by 17% compared to the previous year with 146 students enrolled.

All municipal nursery schools provide school cafeteria service.

The menu is prepared by expert nutritionists and its composition and texture adapts to the evolutionary rhythm and the age of the children.

The Municipal Nursery Network has the educational project "PequeCultura", which covers a wide range of services with care, assistance and education for children from 4 months to 12 years.
