The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the president of Lumbreras Sports Club, Salvador Manzanares, signed a collaboration agreement to promote football in the city.
The Mayor emphasized that "this is a very positive agreement for the club and for the Lumbrerenses soccer fans." One more year, we are fully involved, both institutionally and economically, in the new season of the Lumbreras CD.
With this agreement, the Lumbreras Sports Club is committed to launching a new program of sports and training activities, aimed at promoting football.
In this sense, the City Council grants 40,000 euros to the Club for the management of the Municipal Soccer Field, the participation in federated competitions and the organization of annual soccer championships, in the categories that have a place in the Sports School that manages the Club, as well how to acquire the materials that require compliance with the object of the agreement.
The CD Lumbreras, which has almost 250 students and 14 teams including federated teams and school, with the novelty of a female group for the next season 2019/2020, will continue to carry out activities related to football in the municipality.
In addition, the agreement will serve to manage the infrastructure of the Football Field.
In this sense, it is necessary to remember that months ago conditioning and improvement work was carried out in the Municipal Football Field, with an investment of almost 213,000 euros.
The actions were the replacement of 8,050 square meters of artificial turf FIFA Quality Pro of 60 millimeters in height and 16,000 dtex, renewal of the irrigation system and the perimeter pluvial grids.
In the same way, the irrigation system of the training field was repaired, new football 7 and 11 football goals were installed and the net for football 11 was renewed. In addition, two dressing rooms were provided with the Football Field.
It should be noted that the facilities are currently used by around 400 users, including players from the Lumbreras Sports Club, the Socio-Sports School of the Real Madrid Foundation and fans who, in particular, rent the facilities to use them.
