Six training courses will improve the employability of lumbrerenses in activities linked to the environment thanks to the Eco-Green project (18/07/2019)

Six training activities of free nature will be taught both in Puerto Lumbreras and in Huercal-Overa, for unemployed people, thanks to the ECO-GREEN project "Ecogestion of green spaces and rural areas for agricultural and tourist use".

A project that is part of the Emplea Verde 2018 program, which consists of launching actions aimed at promoting the creation and improvement of employment in economic activities linked to the environment, promoting green employment.

It is a project funded at 80% through a grant awarded by the Biodiversity Foundation, under the Ministry for the ecological transition, through contributions from the European Social Fund and co-financed at 20% by the City of Puerto Lumbreras in collaboration with the City Council from Huercal-Overa.

Through these projects, and taking advantage of the real opportunities for growth offered by activities linked to the environment and biodiversity, we seek to promote the sustainability of economic activities in all sectors, promoting a circular economy, the integration of biodiversity in the management business, the transition to a low-carbon economy and a more efficient use of natural resources.

Between the months of June and November 2019 a total of six free training activities will be carried out for unemployed people, mostly from the distance mode, among which are "Precision Agriculture and the Internet of things for water efficiency, energy efficiency and soil improvement "(40 hours - already taught)," Ecological citrus cultivation "(60 hours, starting next Monday 22 July) or" Eco-efficiency in the horticultural sector, circular economy and ICT ( 50 hours, starting on August 19.) Other courses that will be taught later will be "Recovery and custody of land in agricultural and tourist use (45 hours)," Sustainable landscaping in green spaces and natural areas for tourist and urban use "( 50 hours) and "Drones for soil and water eco-efficiency (20 hours - face-to-face). Care and Employment Guidance

The Eco-green project includes a personalized attention to the students receiving the training, oriented to the insertion and search of a job in the sector that is the object of the project.

Advice will be given by the project staff in order to improve the training of the recipients when seeking and improving employment, through individualized assistance.
