More than 200 students from Puerto Lumbreras receive training in safety and prevention when traveling by bus (05/12/2019)

María Ángeles Tunisia, mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, and Juan Francisco Gómez, General Director of Grupo Orbitalia, presented this morning the II Orbital Campaign for Safety and Prevention in the Transport of Minors that is being developed these days in Puerto Lumbreras, with the objective to teach safety techniques and prevention measures when traveling by bus to more than 200 children in our municipality.

In this campaign, which will take place until February next year inclusive, the students of 2nd grade of all schools in the area participate.

During it, children receive a small training talk by Orbitalia staff, which highlights the various safety measures available to buses, basic rules of behavior and some curiosities about these striking vehicles.

Subsequently, students take a short tour where what they learn is put into practice.

In addition, children are given material to participate in a drawing contest in which, filling in the silhouette of a bus, they choose to win a trip for the whole class of the winner or winner to a destination of their choice in a screen-printed vehicle especially for the occasion in the image and likeness of the winning drawing.

The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, María Ángeles Tunisia, has expressed her gratitude to the Orbitalia Group for this initiative, and has indicated that "it is about raising awareness among children and teachers of the importance of transport safety, and familiarizing children since childhood with the collective transport system, its use, enjoyment, sustainability and socialization, among other aspects. "

In this sense, Juan Francisco Gómez, General Director of Grupo Orbitalia, said that "we continue to promote our Corporate Social Responsibility with this second edition of our Orbitalia Campaign for Safety and Prevention in the Transport of Minors, which is now reaffirming an initiative launched last year and that adds to others of this type that we have been carrying out as the 'Inclusive Trips', which allow diabetic students to travel with their peers receiving continuous attention from specialized medical personnel, as well as the various collaborations with different associations of all".
