A poster by local artist Adela García Olivares announced the celebrations of Puerto Lumbreras (22/09/2016)

The Mayor stressed that "begins the countdown to the festivity of Puerto Lumbreras, whose kick-off will take place on Wednesday, October 5".

The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, by the council of Celebration, Juan Francisco Carrillo, the Councillor for Culture, Maria Victoria Jerez, and the artist Adela Garcia presented the poster of the festivity to be held from 5 to 9 October.

In this sense, the lumbrerense artist Adela García Olivares was the person chosen this year to design the poster for the festivity of Puerto Lumbreras 2016.

He explains the artist, on the poster an open hand appears "that welcomes you and invites you to stroll through Puerto Lumbreras. You are encouraged to explore the town, its streets, the new and the old part of the town".

In addition, the artist has emphasized that "Castle Nogalte takes on special importance in this in which the slope of the kettle and Rambla de Nogalte also appears as a winding path that invites you to meet and visit Puerto Lumbreras, recibiéndote with image open hands ".

Similarly, Adela Garcia explained that "to make the poster I mixed different techniques in watercolor, acrylic and pens. I used drawings, photographs of the village and a little imagination."

For its part, the mayor of the municipality, Maria Angeles Tunisia, has praised the great work of the artist and stressed that "the countdown begins for the festivity of Puerto Lumbreras, whose kick-off will take place on Wednesday, October 5 ".

Tunisia, added that "are highly symbolic dates, days of reunion with family in which we expect the participation of all citizens to continue keeping alive our traditions and friends."

Adela García Olivares

Born in Puerto Lumbreras in 1963. His first stage of training is developed at the School of Plastic Arts of Lorca in 1987, highlighted by his intuition and impulsive and colorful formats.

Encouraged by his teacher, Juan Jimenez, participated in various contests and competitions in and out of the Region of Murcia.

In 1990, he won the Arts Award 'Murcia Joven' and participates in numerous exhibitions with works by grades formats.

He later developed a project on human and animal figure through a grant of Plastic Arts of the Region of Murcia.

In 1992 he participated in the Exhibition of Seville as a young painter Murcia.

Throughout his career, the self-taught artist has made more than 50 solo exhibitions and has participated in more than twenty group exhibitions.
