Development improves road safety and draining four roads connecting districts Puerto Lumbreras with (04/11/2016)

More than 9,500 drivers a day will benefit from these works

The Director of Roads, Jose Antonio Fernandez Lladó, accompanied by the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, today stressed the importance of the work that the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure is developing in four roads that run through the municipality of location.

Llado Fernandez visited the site and explained that its purpose is "to improve road safety and the evacuation of the waters of these important roads to the city," which, overall, have a daily traffic of more than 9,500 vehicles.

It is acting in different sections of regional roads RM-D16, which connects Puerto Lumbreras with the hamlet of La Station-El Esparragal;

RM-D17, links the town with the hamlet Lorca Almendricos;

RM-D19, which connects the town with Rondon and Venta Ceferino, and RM-D26, which connects the hamlet of La Station with that of Altobordo.

The main objective of this work is to optimize the drainage of the road to allow rapid evacuation of water and for this purpose, is carried out removing weeds and grasses growing in the gutters, interrupt the regular flow of water and reduce visibility on the road.

The work consists of mowing weeds and clean the gutters, verges and margins of 80 kilometers of four roads of the regional network, which have a budget of more than 24,000 euros.

The improvement of the drainage system and cleaning the gutters will mean a significant increase in visibility, road safety and driving comfort for users circulating on these roads.
