The official chronicler of Puerto Lumbreras Juan Romera inaugurates his exhibition of photographs 'Yesterday and today of the Port' (20/11/2016)

The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

It can also be visited on Saturdays from 10 to 14 hours.

The official chronicler of Puerto Lumbreras and academician of the Royal Academy of Alfonso X El Sabio, Juan Romera, has inaugurated his exhibition 'Yesterday and Today of the Port', which has been attended by more than a hundred people, including Was the councilor for Culture and Tourism, María Victoria Jerez.

It is a photographic exhibition that shows a journey through original and ancient images of the evolution of Puerto Lumbreras in different spheres: urban, social, economic, cultural and religious.

The people who visit the exhibition will be able to appreciate different and important changes that the locality has experienced over time in points of the urban center like the Greater street or the street San Francisco, and the transformation of the historical center, in which today it is possible Contemplate the rehabilitated Castle of Nogalte.

The Councilor for Tourism, Mª Victoria Jerez, explained that "this exhibition is a unique opportunity to peer into that window of our past through amazing images, thanks to the work of gathering original photos made for decades by Juan Romera."

Juan Romera

Official chronicler of Puerto Lumbreras and member of the Royal Academy Alfonso X the Wise of Murcia.

Graduated in Public and Human Relations, he worked as a Postmaster, Telegrapher and Postmaster for several decades until his retirement in several Spanish locations.

He has been a correspondent for the newspaper La Verdad, covering local information from Puerto Lumbreras, receiving several awards for his news, as well as numerous literary contests.

He is Adoptive Son of Puerto Lumbreras.

Since the last 30 years, he has been dedicated to the historical investigation of local issues about Puerto Lumbreras.

About it has published a score of books and more than a hundred articles in different magazines and media.
