New playgrounds will be created such as a mini soccer field, a mini basketball court and apparatus for the practice of Street Workout or Calisthenics.
The action, which will take place over a three-month implementation period, has an investment of 48,370.88 euros, 45,952.34 euros being subsidized by the Autonomous Community and 2,418.54 euros contributed by the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras.
The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras and the Autonomous Community will carry out improvements in the municipal park Agusto Vels, one of the most central parks in the town, with an investment of more than 48,000 euros.
Concretely, the works will focus on creating new spaces for recreation, repair of pavements with subsidence, creation of a new recreational area inside the park, repair of banks and replacement of bins, among other elements of urban furniture.
In addition, new playgrounds for children with artificial turf, a mini soccer field, a mini basketball court will be created and devices will be installed to practice Street Workout or Calisthenics
A new signage of the use of the park will be introduced for the proper functioning of the park, the natural grass areas will be improved and the irrigation system will be replaced to make it more efficient and automatic.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "by carrying out these tasks we increase the comfort of the facilities, increase the security of the park and improve its appearance and functionality."
Thus, the action, which will be carried out within a period of three months, has an investment of 48,370.88 euros, 45,952.34 euros being subsidized by the Autonomous Community and 2,418.54 euros contributed by the City Council Lumbreras.
This action is framed within the Regional Plan of Dynamization of Works the Regional Action Plan for the Dynamization of Works and Services of Municipal Competition (PARDOS).
On the other hand, the Mayor has pointed out that, in parallel, these actions are also integrated into the Plan for Adequacy of Green Zones that the City of Puerto Lumbreras is carrying out with the aim of significantly improving the image of all parks and Gardens of the municipality.
The Green Zone Comprehensive Adaptation Plan includes about 200 improvement actions in 40 areas of the municipality such as parks, avenues, gardens and other green areas.
To conclude, Tunisia has called for citizen collaboration in the maintenance and care of the parks "so that Puerto Lumbreras remains a clean and sustainable municipality. Green areas are a public space of leisure and recreation very used by neighbors whose environmental value requires Constant maintenance ".
