More than 400 heads of equine cattle will participate in the Fair that is celebrated during Saturday and Sunday in the Comarcal Market of Cattle.

Puerto Lumbreras will host throughout the weekend its traditional Equine Cattle Fair in the facilities of the Comarcal Market of Cattle, which will show more than 400 cattle.

This is one of the oldest encounters of this type in Spain since it originated in the early twentieth century, in the dealings that farmers and farmers made to buy and sell the animals that were necessary for agricultural work.

The Fair will be open to the public from 8 am to 8 pm on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November in facilities with a surface area of ​​20,000 square meters, intended to trade with horses, mares, foals, asal and flock.

Thus, the Councilor for Agriculture and Livestock, José María Parra, explained that "the Fair has a tradition of more than 90 years and closes the season of livestock fairs nationwide."

In addition, he stressed that "every year the number of visitors increases, and this year is expected to visit about 2,000 people throughout the weekend."

This equine event offers citizens of all ages the opportunity to see animals and exhibitions free of charge.

In this sense, Parra explained that "the fair has become an obligatory event that arouses interest among families and citizens of the whole region who come to enjoy this great exhibition of animals of different races, where they can also know some aspects of the Horse world through exhibitions on traditions and typical items related to equine cattle breeding ".

At this fair traders and cattle traders have the opportunity to purchase purebred specimens as well as cross-breeds of a high quality.
