Volunteers from the Reading Club of the Municipal Library Network have read stories, stories and poems to various groups coinciding with the arrival of Christmas.
The Department of Culture of the City of Puerto Lumbreras has launched a new campaign under the motto "This Christmas comes with a book and a smile" with the aim of arousing interest in reading.
In this way, volunteers from the Reading Club of the Municipal Library Network have read stories, stories and poems to various groups coinciding with the arrival of Christmas.
This campaign has been launched with the aim of promoting reading among lumbrerenses, especially between people with disabilities and older people.
To this end, a group of volunteers have been in charge of visiting users of the Day Center for the Elderly, users of the Center for People with Disabilities and users of the Lumbrerense Association of Alzheimer's Disease ALDEA.
The Councilor for Culture, Mª Victoria Jerez, explained that "with this initiative we encourage reading while volunteers offer their time to people with disabilities and elderly in these special dates."
Finally, the councilor thanked the members of the reading club, the great social work performed.
