Lorca artist Lucía Montero inaugurated yesterday her exhibition of iron sculptures at the Socio-Cultural Center Casa de los Duendes.
The event was attended by more than fifty people.
The collection that exposes the artist has more than a score of pieces in iron, all representative of human figures and landscapes.
The exhibition offers attendees a work of "extreme simplicity, being the most remarkable the presence of the industrial in iron bars almost unmanned," explains the artist.
According to Lucía Montero with his work looks for "the dialectic between the horizontal line represented by the landscape and the vertical line represented by the man".
For its part, the Councilor for Culture, Mª Victoria Jerez, thanked the artist for his interest in exhibiting his work in Puerto Lumbreras and praised "the great work done with human figures and iron landscapes of large dimensions."
The exhibition, which will be open to the public until February 17, can be visited from Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In addition, it will also be open on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.
Lucía Montero has a diploma in textile design, a field in which she began with various artistic works and since that which led to sculpture.
Lucía also has training in drawing and modeling at the School of Arts and Trades of Madrid and studied tapes and carpets at the School of Arts and Trades of Valencia.
This artist has made numerous exhibitions in galleries and fairs in different parts of the country and was awarded in the "V Bienal de sculpture de Murcia".
