More than 600 people have registered their fingerprint to be able to use the study rooms 24 hours, which can be accessed 365 days a year.
The Department of Youth will launch in the coming weeks improvement actions in the study room 24 hours of Puerto Lumbreras.
The 24-hour study rooms with access by fingerprint, located in the Espacio Joven de Puerto Lumbreras and in the Biblioteca de La Estación-Esparragal, have registered 54,752 visits during the last year 2016. Thus, more than 600 people have registered their footprint To be able to use the 24-hour study rooms, which are open to the public 365 days a year.
The 24-hour classroom of Puerto Lumbreras is located on the ground floor of Espacio Joven.
It has more than 100 square meters, and has a capacity of 60 study places.
On the other hand, the 24-hour study room of La Estación-Esparragal, which was built last year, is located next to the Library of this district lumbrerense.
The room is 35 square meters and offers a capacity of 15 study places.
It is worth mentioning that the two rooms have air conditioning for cold and heat, toilets and free Wi-Fi Internet connection.
Recently, the Department of Youth of the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has performed improvements in the lighting of the study room of Puerto Lumbreras to optimize the study conditions.
In addition, in the coming weeks will start work of conditioning such as painting and repair of damages.
Likewise, it is planned to install information boards and a suggestion box "so that students can express their needs and proposals for improvement, thus increasing communication between the City and the youth of the municipality," explained Andrés López, Councilor for Youth .
On the other hand, it will also create a seating area outside the study room of Puerto Lumbreras with the installation of benches so that students can sit during their breaks.
"The first 24-hour study room opened in Puerto Lumbreras in 2013 and since then there has been increasing number of users who use these facilities, especially young people during the exam period," explained the councilman of Youth.
The study rooms complement the services provided by the Municipal Library Network.
The Library of Puerto Lumbreras and the Library of La Estación-Esparragal offer services of consultation and loan of books, computer room and study room.
Finally, people who want to use the study room 24 hours should register their fingerprint.
To do this, they should go to the Department of Informatics of the City of Puerto Lumbreras from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 15.00 hours.
Once the registration is done, the room can be accessed simply by placing your finger on the fingerprint reader located next to the access door to the study rooms.
