The leisure program "Nogalte Cultural" has concluded this weekend with great success of public.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with associations of the municipality, designed this program with more than 45 activities planned for the summer months.
The edition "Nogalte Cultural 2017" has included activities of music, humor, cinema and sport aimed at people of all ages.
The program began with the parties of the San Juan district on June 23 and ended on August 26 with the encounter of trovos.
The Councilor for Tourism and Culture, Mª Victoria Jerez, has been satisfied by the great welcome that this year has had the activities of Cultural Nogalte and has highlighted that "more than 7,200 people have attended the different events that have taken place during the Not only lumbrerenses, but also neighbors of other localities have traveled to our municipality to enjoy a varied program of leisure and free time, which has had a very positive impact on commerce and the hotel industry.
According to the councilor, "dance festivals, trovos, guided tours to the Astronomical Observatory, summer cinema and the musical performances of Hugo Salazar and Curro Piñana have been the most multitudinous events."
Every Tuesday of the month of August a film has been projected in the different parks of the locality and districts.
Around 900 people have enjoyed the different films aimed at all audiences, which have been screened in a night session.
Regarding the Astronomical Observatory, apart from the guided tours made during the summer, the activity organized on August 12 was marked by the "Rain of Stars".
That night, more than 400 citizens went up to the Cabezo de la Jara to observe the perseids from the powerful telescope located in the Observatory.
Mª Victoria Jerez has also highlighted the success of the "young Tuesday" initiative with the opening of municipal pools at night and free admission.
This activity, which has been held every Tuesday of the month of July with entertainment shows, has been attended by more than 1,200 people.
The council has stressed that "this programming has been a success since it was the lumbrerenses themselves who have decided much of the activities of leisure and culture that have been made with participatory budgets."
The residents of Puerto Lumbreras chose, through a survey, the different options that the City Council proposed, as well as they could propose new ones for the elaboration of the program Nogalte Cultural 2017.
The activities also include book presentations, recitals of poetry, guided tours, concerts, workshops for children and sports activities.
