The Ministry of Presidency and Development has contributed to partially defray the costs of the surveillance carried out by Civil Protection volunteers.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras formalized an agreement with the Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Presidency and Promotion, to provide the service of prevention and extinction of forest fires, under the Plan Infomur 2017.
In order to ensure that the implementation of the Infomur Plan is carried out effectively, the General Directorate of Public Safety and Emergency has prepared an operation in which the periods of danger (low, medium and high) are specified, the figures and establishes the infrastructure of human and material resources that are available to coordinate, monitor and extinguish forest fires.
The operation of the INFOMUR Plan plans to include as pairs of civil protection volunteers in the surveillance and detection stations in the surveillance infrastructure.
In this way, the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras and the regional government collaborate in the provision of the service of monitoring, prevention and extinction of forest fires, according to the operation planned in this year's plan.
Specifically, Civil Protection volunteers from Puerto Lumbreras are carrying out land mobile surveillance tasks in the natural area of ​​Cabezo de la Jara and the Sierra de En medio.
Civil Protection members monitor these forests with the aim of preventing and detecting possible forest fires, within the framework of the Plan for the Civil Protection of Emergency Fire Fires in the Region of Murcia (Plan Infomur) for the time of high risk of fires.
The Ministry of Presidency and Development has contributed to partially defray the costs of the surveillance carried out by Civil Protection volunteers, for which it allocates 5,888 euros to the City of Puerto Lumbreras.
