The City Council develops two projects that allow the hiring of unemployed people (17/11/2017)

Two administrative assistants and a technician in full-time computer operations have started working in the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras is executing two employment projects "Lumbreras Gestión" and "Lumbreras TIC'S", which have made it possible to hire unemployed people from the municipality.

In this way, through the "Lumbreras Gestión" program, two full-time administrative assistants have been hired for six months.

These people are in charge of supporting the intervention technicians of the Consistory in the economic-financial area.

On the other hand, the City Council is also developing the employment project "Lumbreras TIC'S", through which a technician in computer operations has been hired full-time.

The Councilor for Employment, Angela Morillas, stressed that "we continue to promote this type of initiatives that encourage the creation of employment to further reduce the local unemployment rate, which is currently at 7.75%, well below the average regional and national, and is one of the lowest local unemployment rates in the Region of Murcia ".

The persons chosen to occupy these jobs have had to meet a series of requirements such as being unemployed, not employed and registered in the employment offices of the Regional Employment and Training Service, both at the time of selection and in the hiring, were available for employment and were suitable for the job offered.

The employment office of the SEF, according to the profile requested, has been the one who carried out the survey to carry out the pre-selection of the candidates.

Workers who met the requirements were selected by applying the following criteria in order: a) long-term unemployed of 45 years or more;

b) young people under 30 years of age;

c) people with disabilities, victims of gender violence and victims of terrorism;

and d) long-term unemployed from 30 to 44 years.

These two projects have a total subsidy of 29,421.72 euros.

They are financed with funds from the Ministry responsible for employment, transferred to the Autonomous Community of the Murcia Region, through the SEF, co-financed with the European Social Fund, being the entity promoting the City of Puerto Lumbreras.
