A fortnight of families benefit from the reconciliation program of work and family life (04/02/2018)

The objective pursued with this initiative is to combat discrimination between men and women, as well as facilitate the reincorporation and job placement.

The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities has granted a grant of 6,952 euros to the City of Puerto Lumbreras for the provision of services to reconcile work and private life.

Thus, a fortnight of families have benefited from this conciliation program that has been developed in the Ana Mª Sánchez nursery until February 3.

The groups to which this action has been directed are mothers and fathers who are working and / or who are unemployed but trained to find a job.

The objective pursued by this initiative is to combat discrimination between men and women, for which the employment of women in all sectors is encouraged;

and facilitate the reincorporation and labor insertion.

The specific objectives that are to be achieved with this service are to contribute to the reconciliation of work, family and personal life and social equality in the municipality.

The financing, through the General Directorate for Women and Equal Opportunities, includes recreational and educational projects of schools in non-school periods.

Specifically, the children have done extracurricular activities in the afternoon, divided into three blocks.

A bilingual leisure workshop to bring English to children in a fun way through games, dance and music;

a school support workshop for educational and academic development, in which the contents acquired in their educational centers are reinforced;

and a coeducation workshop, which aims to promote gender equality through stories and drawings, among other activities.

The Councilor for Equal Opportunities, Sonia Lopez, stressed that "we will continue to promote policies to support the family, protecting those of special difficulty such as broken families, women separated victims of gender violence, separated mothers with children minors in charge, single mothers or single-parent families ".

Finally, Sonia Lopez stressed that "conciliation and co-responsibility are essential to achieve full equality between women and men."
