The Civil Guard recovers a dozen lambs stolen in the province of Almeria (07/03/2018)

The animals were moved from Vélez Rubio (Almería) to the hamlet of El Esparragal de Puerto Lumbreras

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the 'Plan against the abductions in agricultural and livestock farms', has developed the operation 'CACHUCHA', an investigation aimed at clarifying the theft of nine heads of sheep that has been settled with the recovery of the totality of the animals and the instruction of diligences as investigated to two people, for the presumed authorship of crime of theft.

The actions, framed in the 'Plan against the abductions in agricultural and livestock exploitations', began when the Civil Guard received the denunciation of a cattleman of Puerto Lumbreras in which the subtraction communicated several lambs of a property of his property.

Agents of the ROCA Team (against theft in the field) then began the investigation to clarify the facts, locate the stolen animals and identify the perpetrators.

La Benemérita obtained the information regarding the type of cattle stolen young lambs that led the researchers to a cattle pen, located in the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, where there were suspicions of the irregular housing of sheep.

The agents identified the person who ran him with antecedents for crimes of the nature that could not prove his legal possession, although these animals were not recognized by the complainant.

The Civil Guard continued the investigation with the objective of locating the legal owner of the lambs, which led the civil guards to the province of Almeria where, supported by territorial units of that Comandancia, they found that there was a complaint for the theft of this type of livestock.

In this case, the owner recognized without any doubt the animals that, supposedly, had been moved from the cattle farm located in the Almeria town of Vélez-Rubio to the livestock pen located in El Esparragal-Puerto Lumbreras.

As a result of the indications obtained, the Civil Guard has identified two people, one of them, who ran the cattle corral in Puerto Lumbreras, who have been instructed to act as alleged perpetrators of the crime of theft.

The nine lambs have been recovered and returned to their rightful owner.

The proceedings and the recovered animals have been made available to the Deans of the Courts of Vélez-Rubio (Almería).
