The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has stopped on the A-7 motorway, at the height of Puerto Lumbreras, the driver of a tourist who was surprised when he transported 15 kilograms of hashish resin.

The events took place in the municipality Lumbrerense, when the Benemérita developed one of the usual interception and vehicle inspection devices that are established on the A-7 motorway, which links Andalusia with Murcia, being one of the usual tasks of these checkpoints the control of possible vehicles and people who transport hashish and its derivatives, usually from the traditional points of introduction of this substance in the South of Spain to the north of the peninsula.

This highway is one of the transit routes of this drug by road, either to other points of the national territory or even road to countries around us, so the Civil Guard extends surveillance in the areas of service and rest to the object of prevent this type of criminal acts.

On this occasion, the agents set their sights on a tourism that was driven by a single person and traveling in the South.

The arrest of the vehicle occurred taking advantage of the fact that the identified stopped in a rest area when traveling from Murcia to Andalusia.

After identifying the driver, a superficial examination of the vehicle was carried out and it was discovered that it was carrying a large bag containing about fifteen packages containing the usual hashish resin tablets, which yielded a total weight of 15 kilograms. proceeded to the arrest of the driver as alleged perpetrator of drug trafficking offense.

The unit specialized in prosecuting the drug trafficking of the 5th Civil Guard Zone took charge of the detainee, the drug and to finalize the investigations in this regard in order to discover the origin and the final destination that was thought to give to the merchandise illegal.

The fact that hachis was transported in the opposite direction to the traditional route of this drug, produced in North Africa, is transported by land, sea and air to Spain and from here to the rest of Europe.

The investigation shows that the final destination could have been another point of Andalusia or even the South of Portugal.
