The town of Puerto Lumbreras has hosted this morning the Regional Championship Absolute XXV Individual Chess to be held on 11, and April 25 and 16 and 23 May.
About one hundred participants from various municipalities in the Region of Murcia have gathered at the Parador de Turismo de Puerto Lumbreras where the championship takes place.
The competition is held for 8 rounds Swiss system and the matchmaking is used computerized 'Swiss Manager'.
In addition, two rounds are played daily at 10:00 hours for the first h and 16:30 h for the second.
On the other hand, the three top finishers in the competition will receive a trophy and cash prizes: the third place will receive 200 euros, 300 euros and the runner-up champion 400 euros.
Coinciding with the competition, the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras organizes a different menu every day of the championship for both players and guests.
