Puerto Lumbreras this weekend celebrates its traditional Feria of horses.

The Councillor for Rural Development, Jose Maria Parra, and Councillor for Public Spaces, Juan Ramón Cayuela, presented this morning the sign of the Fair this year will feature the exhibition of horses, mares, colts and cattle donkeys in the Market District.

With a tradition of more than 80 years, Equine Cattle Fair in Puerto Lumbreras opens the calendar of such fairs in our country.

The fair, organized by the Information Office of the Agriculture and Livestock dependent on the Department of Rural Development, will be open from 8:00 to 20:00 on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 May at a facility with an area of 20,000 square meters.

In addition to the purchase of animals, the Fair will feature a track for horse show, and entry is free to the public to attend.

In this sense, Parra added that "traffickers and cattle traders have the opportunity to buy at this show, not only copies of purebred, crossbred cattle, but a high quality and affordable.

It is also an opportunity for citizens wishing to enter the equine world to know this tradition for free. "

To participate in the fair is essential that the sites hosting this type of livestock are entered in the Register Livestock Operations of the Autonomous Region in which the animal lies and health documentation and certification of disinfection of transport vehicles animals.

All participating animals from restricted zones must comply with the APA orders in relation to bluetongue, laying down specific measures of protection in relation to this disease.

This year, due to the implementation of new standards, the animals participating in the fair must be identified by passport and microchip.
