The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has begun work on a new rainwater collection system that will serve to enhance the use of water from precipitation in the municipality.
The new network being installed in the Region of Murcia Avenue, connect with other stormwater collection networks already existing in the municipality to facilitate better use of water allocated to irrigation in the area.
The works have a state investment of more than 300,000 euros and provide for the placement of 287 feet of pipe.
"For the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras the use of water resources has become a priority and we continue promoting the installation of such networks in several streets in the municipality.
With this new action have joined several stormwater collection networks to collect water in the main streets of the municipality's urban center that is subsequently used to irrigate the area, "said Councilman Works, Eliseo Sánchez.
The new rainwater collection system is being installed in the Murcia region Avenue and connect with other existing networks.
The works include the installation of 287 meters of rainwater collection system through a pipeline of 1,200 mm in diameter.
In addition to allocating shares of irrigation water, the new rainwater harvesting system will prevent stagnation of water in the town streets.
On the other hand, the actions include installing a new drainage system over 200 meters in Murcia Avenue and Calle Lorca.
