About one hundred participants from various municipalities in the Region of Murcia have gathered at the Parador de Turismo de Puerto Lumbreras which has developed the Championship
The town of Puerto Lumbreras has hosted during the months of April and May, the Regional Championship Absolute XXV Individual Chess in which more than a hundred people from various municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
Councillor for Culture, Isabel García, together with the Councillor for Tourism, Ginés David Piñero, have closed the competition in a ceremony also attended by the president of the Chess Federation, Antonio Gallego, and the Director of the Parador de Turismo de Puerto Lumbreras, Jesus Manuel.
The competition has been contested by 8 rounds Swiss system and the matchmaking was used computerized 'Swiss Manager'.
In addition, they have played two rounds a day in the 10:00 am to 16:30 pm first and the second.
On the other hand, the three top finishers in the competition have received a trophy and cash prizes: the Champion in the overall standings, Alejandro Escudero, followed by David Martinez finished runners, and the third because he did Angel Murcia.
Finally, coinciding with the competition, the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras organized a different menu every day of the championship for both players and guests.
