The Councillor for Environment, Ginés David Piñero, along with Councilman street cleaning, Eliseo Sanchez, has distributed this morning paper recycling companies and local businesses to mark the Environment Month.
In the past year, Puerto Lumbreras has increased the quality of waste for recycling from 65% to 90%.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Regional Government, deals throughout the month 2,000 containers of recycling companies and local businesses.
This morning, the Environment Councillor, David Piñero Ginés, and council street cleaning, Eliseo Sanchez, along with vice president of the Confederation of Employers ASEPLU have made delivery of containers to retail and commercial town of the municipality.
"The Campaign for allocating recycling bins is to encourage the selection and separation of waste at source in enterprises and businesses to encourage further recycling," said Councilman Environment, Ginés David Piñero.
Specifically, the initiative was developed in collaboration with the Directorate General of Environmental Quality, in order to promote the campaign "Separate and recycle is in your hands' with the delivery of recycling bins to businesses and traders to enhance the selective separation.
The rigid cardboard bins are 60 cm high and 40 by 40 wide, and have been designed with the colors blue, yellow and green with identifying images of the three fractions for recycling.
Thus, in the yellow bin are stored light containers (cartons, plastic bottles, soda cans and canned), blue for paper and cardboard, and green glass.
Furthermore, in the fourth division includes waste paper intended for EcoPark, which can not be placed in the other recycling containers.
Increased public awareness in Puerto Lumbreras
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras launched 'Puerto Lumbreras cares', a plan that increases human resources, activities and the infrastructure for street cleaning and waste collection in the municipality.
Thus, during the past year, Puerto Lumbreras, has increased the quality of waste for recycling from 65% to 90%.
"These data indicate that the waste collected in the municipality for recycling are of quality, in which only include improper waste of each type, thereby facilitating comprehensive recycling process," said Councilman street cleaning, Eliseo Sánchez.
And with the RAW Road 'Puerto Lumbreras cares' were installed 513 new trash cans with 2,400 liters for the collection of waste, and launched two new Ecoparks in the municipality, one fixed and one Mobile, which offer services for the collection of household waste that can not be placed in conventional containers.
