Puerto Lumbreras City Council has approved the Municipal Council a motion requiring the government of the nation to meet and not to delay the deadline for the arrival of high speed train to the Region of Murcia.
In the motion, passed with 12 votes for the PP and IU, and the abstention of the PSOE, the municipality seeks to include the high-speed connection to Cartagena and Lorca, and the continuation of the Mediterranean rail freight corridor through Region of Murcia to Andalusia.
"Once again the National Government intends to discriminate against Murcia once again delaying an infrastructure that would make a significant investment in the competitiveness of our region," said Councilman Industry, David Ginés Piñero.
In addition, Piñero has explained that "if you delay the arrival of high-speed train to the region will be a serious detriment to the employment and economic and social progress, especially when it is announced that the delays will not affect other communities autonomous. "
