The Socio-Cultural Center Casa de los Duendes hosts a temporary collective exhibition under the title "To my mother", composed mainly of photographs, writings and poems.
The show also has drawings, embroidery, garments and objects, all of them related to the mothers of the participants and the time they had to live.
About fifteen Lumbrere women participate in this collective project open to citizen participation that aims to recognize and give visibility to the Lumbrerense mother figure.
The event began with the presentation of the project and some personal tributes, followed by the opening of the exhibition.
The Councilor for Culture, María Victoria Jerez, thanked the involvement of this group of women and explained that "they have created a common history to honor the mother figure, their work, their efforts, achievements and family dedication, as well as to value the importance of its role in the education of children and, therefore, in society in general. "
A fundamental role of women in this sense, point out from the collective AMM, as a transmitter of knowledge that passes from generation to generation and would otherwise be lost.
From the organization they have highlighted that "it has been a very laborious work, of many hours and meetings, that have enriched us a lot and that has been very emotional and satisfactory".
Those interested in visiting the exhibition can do so throughout the month of May from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.
