The Sacred Heart CEIP of Puerto Lumbreras and the IES Rambla de Nogalte of this same town initiate the collaboration project "Monitors of Science".
An initiative of this lumbrerense public school that, in collaboration with the Department of Physics and Chemistry of the institute, aims to convert students of 4th of ESO and 1st of Bachillerato in monitors of science.
This is an activity that is simultaneously included in other scientific activities that will be developed during the third trimester in the 2nd cycle of Primary (4th, 5th, 6th).
Thus, on Tuesday 8, 22 and 29 May, young people from the IES Rambla de Nogalte trained for the activity, move to the Sacred Heart CEIP to perform scientific practices as monitors of small groups formed around five students .
The volunteers, supervised by teachers and teachers of both centers, have been proposed for different reasons.
On the one hand, due to their interest in the scientific subject they work, since they have decided to study it by their own decision.
On the other hand, its curriculum load is not excessively strong compared to other courses such as 2nd year of Bachillerato.
During the development of the project, the students of the Institute will alternate throughout the month to show the students a series of experiments, at the same time that they explain each step and answer the questions they ask them.
The Councilor for Education, Sonia Lopez, praised the initiative of both centers and stressed that "these days allow the students of the Institute that study Physics and Chemistry can expose their theoretical knowledge in a practical way and show the functionality of the subject to the schoolchildren.
