The sixth edition of the Ruta de Tapa de Puerto Lumbreras already has the winner, Bar-Restaurante Loma's.
Out of a total of 20 culinary specialties, the jury chose the Loma's apple cheek as the most creative cover of the contest.
The owner of the establishment that has obtained the first prize has been presented with a hotel night for two people on a half-board basis.
The second position was for the mushroom and foie brick from La Rambla Restaurant, with the prize for the tapa with the best flavor, and the third place was occupied by the Iberian ham skewer from Pernías Bar-Restaurant as the most balanced tapa.
The winner of the second prize has received a spa circuit and a meal for two, while the third prize winner has obtained a spa circuit for two people.
The winners have been chosen by a prestigious jury composed of the kitchen chefs of Mesón Villarejo, Los Jardines and Parador de Lorca.
The mayor of the town, M ª Angeles Tunisia, who has been present at the awards ceremony, has made a positive assessment and stressed that "the initiative has managed to boost the hospitality sector and turn into a tourist attraction the gastronomy of the municipality, what encourages the owners of bars and restaurants to continue collaborating in this type of event in the next editions ".
The tapas offered by the hotel and restaurant establishments with a beer were priced at 2.50 euros.
Citizens could also consume a soda and a tapa for 3 euros.
This edition included a wide variety of tapas made with high quality products and designed specifically for the occasion.
Some of the dishes were coca smoked and couscous, tuna tartar a la vasca, artichoke stuffed with a port ball, chicken skewer with truffle roe sauce or mini-burguer with special sauce.
In addition, eight cocktail bars participated in this route to offer original cocktails.
The participating bars and restaurants were Enyan II, El Descanso, La Gasolinera, La Posada, Daltons, El Centro, La Rambla, Avenida, Pernías, Bocadillón de Jamón, El Ruedo, Florida, Juan and Ana, Los Angeles, Albanta, Mi Cortijo , Ramblizo, Loma's, Tesas, El Límite, Manhattan, Porké, Caché, Refuge, Maykel, Lila, 80 Music, CH.
In parallel, the municipality hosted the first Gastronomic Days during the month of April with master classes of haute cuisine, creative tapas course, organic food workshop and craft beer tasting, among other initiatives.
The conference was held in collaboration with Naturans Centro, El Cantero, My pharmacy, Hotel Riscal, Bodega Regino and the Tourist Qualification Center of the Region of Murcia.
