The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Túnez García, met today with the head of Iberdrola Distribución in the Region of Murcia, César Calomarde, to discuss possible actions to improve the electricity supply in this municipality.
During the meeting, held at the company's facilities, Calomarde pointed out that recently there have been two interruptions of the electric service in the municipality, although one of them was caused by the action of a third party outside the company.
In this sense, the head of Iberdrola Distribución has indicated that Puerto Lumbreras has a good quality of power supply in the areas where both breakdowns were registered.
After the meeting, Tunisia has ensured that Iberdrola has committed to perform various actions to improve the electricity service.
The first of these, and which is already in the process of declaring public utility, is the extension of a medium voltage line that electrically feeds the municipality from the nearby Hípica substation.
This line will be expanded and reinforced to improve the reliability of the electricity network that feeds the municipality.
In addition, from Iberdrola they have committed to putting in as little time as possible new medium voltage feeder lines also to Puerto Lumbreras, in this case from the Nogalte substation.
In this way, the urban center will receive electricity from a medium voltage line, and rural areas will have another different feeder line.
All this, has been indicated from Iberdrola, will contribute to improve the quality of the electricity supply and the reliability of the service to the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras and its neighbors.
