The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the president of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs "Guadalentín Emprende", Miguel Angel Sola, have signed a new agreement to encourage and support the business sector of Lumbrerense.
The purpose of the agreement is to create a framework of collaboration and cooperation between the City Council and the association, which will lead to actions to promote entrepreneurial culture and local economic activity.
In this way, the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras delivers an economic contribution of 600 euros to Guadalentín Emprende, corresponding to the 2018/2019 financial year, to launch dynamic actions and entrepreneurship promotion campaigns.
The collaboration in activities will be developed with the organization of talks, seminars and workshops about the entrepreneurial culture.
In addition, the association will be in close relationship with the Council of Employment of the City Council in the promotion of entrepreneurship, professionalization and new business opportunities, through dissemination, guidance and information to the general public.
Mª Ángeles Tunisia stressed that "we will always be by the side of young entrepreneurs and provide them with all the facilities that are within our reach".
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras puts at the disposal of entrepreneurs under 35 years bonuses of 50% in the rate of opening of establishments, and offers a 50% reduction in urban licenses for works related to the business project during the first five years of activity.
As the mayor highlighted, "with initiatives like these we intend to stimulate the business fabric of the municipality and make young people feel more nurtured when they start in the business world."
Finally, Tunisia thanked the work done by the association in the municipality, since "has contributed significantly to the reduction of the local unemployment rate, which today is at 6.4%."
