The socialist spokesman Joaquin Lopez Pagan affirms that Puerto Lumbreras "is the Zero zone of the waste and the bad management of the PP, both by Pedro Antonio Sánchez, when he was in the regional government and by the current mayor, María Ángeles Túnez"
The spokesman of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Joaquín López Pagán and the general secretary of the PSOE of Puerto Lumbreras, María Rosa García have claimed that the National Parador of this town will become a Residence for the Elderly.
It is a historical claim of its neighbors for 15 years.
These facilities, once refurbished, offer many advantages to become a residence for the elderly: it has 60 rooms, large green areas;
It is perfectly communicated, with easy access to other healthcare services, with a large property and magnificent common areas.
The socialist spokesman said that it is a first level need for this municipality of 15,000 inhabitants and denounced that "Puerto Lumbreras is the Zero area of waste and mismanagement of the Popular Party, both by Pedro Antonio Sánchez, when he was in the Government of the Region, as by the current mayor, María Ángeles Túnez ".
In this town, there are many abandoned public buildings, among which are the former National Parador, which despite its structure is in good condition, the interior has been plundered for lack of surveillance and control by the Corporation from PP
Criticized that the mayor has no project or option for this infrastructure.
Neither does he understand that the regional government is betting on a new private residence, when it has a building that could be equipped to house a public residence.
"It is intolerable and a real shame that the citizens of this municipality have to see how buildings that are empty and could be used for useful uses for citizenship are vandalized by the carelessness of their rulers."
The Socialist spokesman promised to bring the issue to the Regional Assembly and "work to sign an agreement between the City Council and the regional government, in order to make that public residence a reality."
For its part, the secretary general of the PSOE of Puerto Lumbreras, María Rosa García, denounced that the National Tourism Parador, closed in 2012, not only has not incorporated the School of Hospitality provided by the Ministry in 2014, "so that Puerto Lumbreras improve the quality of services, increase tourism and develop professions related to the sector, but has been subject to looting without the Corporation has done anything to avoid it and today is a ruin.
García criticized the poor management of the Municipal Government Team, "who does not know how to work within the established norms".
He recalled that in total, the loss in grants amounts to 8 million euros, after failing to meet the provisions of the Parador, with the School of Hospitality, and the Murcia Region avenue.
Between 2015-2017 the City Council had to return to the Autonomous Community 3.5 million euros entered into the municipal coffers since 2008 for the development of several investment projects.
The cause is the breach of the execution commitments.
Paradoxically, the facilities of the hostel have appeared closed this morning coinciding with the visit of representatives of the PSOE, after years open and abandoned without any kind of surveillance.
