The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has launched a deratization and disinsection campaign in the sewerage network and public areas of the municipality to reduce the presence of insects and rodents.
"Throughout the year we carry out disinfection work, but coinciding with the arrival of summer and high temperatures we intensify the work with the aim of preventing pests of rodents, cockroaches and any other type of insects", explained the Councilor for Health, Andrés López.
The works, which have already begun in the urban core of the municipality, employ a treatment methodology consisting of the application of an insecticide smoke tablet in the entire sewerage network to combat the presence of insects and rodents in the streets of the municipality.
The actions are developed throughout the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, including the districts.
The Councilor for Health has stressed "the importance of these tasks are complemented with collaboration and public involvement in order to improve the cleanliness and appearance of the city of Puerto Lumbreras."
From the Department of Health establish a series of recommendations to prevent the proliferation of pests such as not throwing waste to the public road, keep clean private lots and deposit garbage bags closed and on schedule.
