On the occasion of World Environment Day, users of the Integral Center for People with Disabilities of Puerto Lumbreras (CIPED), have made two trips aimed at collecting waste in adjoining areas and adjacent to the center where they daily perform Your activities.
The objective of this initiative, as stated by the center's management, has been to raise awareness and mobilize the users of CIPED to maintain the natural spaces freed from garbage.
For this reason, prior to the departure, a presentation was made by different professionals about the World Environment Day and what actions can be carried out from the citizenship to take care of it.
Ana Alcaraz, director of CIPED, has highlighted that with this type of activities "the users show a sense of belonging to the group, of being social agents with an active participation, developing their self-esteem, showing a sensation of being valued and capable to perform requested tasks ".
In addition, these users have acquired knowledge about the care of the environment and the problems of pollution.
