The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras continues executing improvement actions in the city's drinking water distribution network.
Currently, the works are being carried out in the Pintor José María Párraga street.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, and the Councilor of Works, Eliseo Sánchez, visited the works today to check their status.
The works included in the project include the excavation of ditches, the installation of a new supply network, the replacement of 1,222 square meters of asphalt and replacement of sidewalks.
Specifically, the action in the supply network includes the installation of 165 meters of 63 mm thick polyethylene pipe in José Mª Párraga street and 160 linear meters of 90 mm pipe in Peñón street to improve water conduction.
In addition, the works include the execution of 20 new residential connections, which will guarantee the correct functioning of the network.
In the same way, a new meter and a pressure regulating valve will be installed at the head of the network to stabilize the pressures in the drinking water supply.
A multilog GPRS valve will also be placed to locate more quickly possible failures that may arise in the future.
Councilman Works, Eliseo Sanchez, explained that "these tasks contribute to modernize the distribution network of drinking water in the municipality."
In addition, Sanchez recalled that "to these works we must add other actions that have been made to improve the potable water supply network in the municipality as is the case of Caracas Street or José Pérez Pintor Street".
This work has a deadline of three months and a budget of 41,663.18 euros.
It should be noted that the amount of the investment is financed by the water canon.
