The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras continues with the disinfection and disinsection campaign in the municipality as a preventive measure against possible pests of insects and rodents.
Specifically, during this week the work is being done in all public schools in the town so that schoolchildren find their centers in perfect condition at the end of the holidays.
In this way, the works consist of environmental disinfection and surfaces by air.
This type of disinfection is a necessary complement of conventional disinfection, which allows the control of the environments in the classrooms and common spaces of the educational centers.
The applied methodology is the nebulization through the use of disinfectants in the form of fog to reach hidden and elevated areas that are not easily accessed.
The nebulization equipment is used for the use of disinfectants in the form of small particles in all the areas of the schools, which allows access to corners and other manually inaccessible areas.
The Councilor for Health, Andrés López, explained that "we are launching this initiative in a preventive way to eradicate possible pests and foci of infection that may affect the health of children or other members of the educational community."
"Throughout the year we carry out disinfection work in the municipality, but coinciding with the arrival of summer and high temperatures we intensify the work with the aim of preventing pests of rodents, cockroaches and any other type of insect", explained Andrés López.
It should be noted that the disinsection and deratization campaign is carried out throughout the municipality, including the districts.
The councilman of Health has stressed "the importance of these tasks are complemented with collaboration and citizen involvement in order to improve the cleanliness and appearance of the city."
