The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has begun the work of conditioning the rural road of the Abades with an approximate investment of 70,000 euros.
The mayor of the town, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the councilor for Agriculture, Livestock, Water and Pedanies, have moved to the area to monitor the status of the works.
The mayor of the town stressed that "the main objective of this action is to increase road safety and improve access to farms and livestock, as well as housing."
The works contemplate the installation of a transversal concrete drainage, replacement of pipes, mechanical sweeping of the road surface, milling of the current firm, profiling and leveling with the grader of the new road surface and compaction.
Once the road has hardened, the road will be equipped with a new rolling layer that is five meters wide.
For this, a triple surface treatment with asphalt emulsion will be applied.
Likewise, new horizontal and vertical signs will be placed, which will limit the speed to 40km / h and prohibit overtaking.
In recent weeks, the Ministry has invested 204,000 euros in the execution of 5,478 meters of rural roads in three different actions on the road to Vera, path of the Abades and Perez road.
These actions are co-financed through Feader with 63 percent, by funds from the Region of Murcia with 25.9 percent and by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food by 11.1 percent.
