Wednesday, September 12, 2018. The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras is carrying out, since August 1, various cleaning actions in public spaces thanks to a group of 13 unemployed workers.
This is an initiative that is scheduled to end on October 31 and has been subsidized through the Program for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment of the Public State Employment Service (SPEE), with the Regional Employment Councils and the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras .
The total budget of 56,516.75 euros includes interventions both in urban areas and rural roads.
In eight-hour days, the workers carry out the cleaning of weeds and garbage in spaces and public roads such as the heritage environment of Castillo de Nogalte, the town center or the roads of Los Molinos and Las Casicas.
The councilman of Works, Eliseo Sanchez, has specified that these actions, which will take place over three months, consist of clearing those ditches of roads that "currently hinder the visibility of vehicles traveling on the road", getting close the cycle of these organic waste, since "it is also planned to collect, transport, crush and provide organic coverage in municipal gardens."
