Wednesday September 26, 2018. The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras and the group of choirs and dances 'Virgen del Rosario' of this same municipality have just signed a collaboration agreement by which the group will receive the financial contribution of 5,000 euros.
With the aim of promoting the customs, folklore, dances and popular music of the Region as well as the organization of cultural events, the money will be allocated to the celebration of the next International Folklore Festival that takes place every year during the months of summer within the Nogalte Cultural programming.
An amount that will be allocated to lighting, sound and assembly costs, as well as to the travel and maintenance expenses of the different participating groups.
In addition, the City Council is committed to making available to the lumbrerense group a premises of 195 square meters as headquarters from where members of choirs and dances can carry out their administrative procedures and perform their tests.
"We show our institutional commitment to this important lumbrerense group as they contribute not only to the recovery of local traditions, but to the tourist promotion of our municipality within and outside of Spain," according to the Councilor for Culture, María Victoria Jerez .
