The socio-cultural space Casa de los Duendes of Puerto Lumbreras hosted last Friday, September 28 the presentation of the book 'Flamencolic'.
An initiative that takes shape after eight years of work for his personal blog, a virtual space in which he has managed to bring together some 2,500 followers and more than 100,000 visits.
It is, therefore, Rocío Hellín's first paper work.
The synopsis of the same recognizes in the writer an "intimate and personal point of view where flamenco is not treated from the strictest concept of the word, but from the most open direction". It is so that the Lumbrerense, "flees from the clichés, of topics and fashions "using" irony and sensitivity in the form of a short story and flamenco code, "the text points out.
The publication is edited by Ediciones Ende, with a foreword by flamencologist Javier Osuna, who highlights the "narrative capacity and sensitivity of its author", and is illustrated with images signed by Lumbrerense Susana Patricia López.
The Councilor for Culture of the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, María Victoria Jerez, wanted to highlight the importance of initiatives like this one since "they help us to reconnect with our Lumbrere roots, as well as to approach the world of flamenco from a closer and more fear, since at times it may seem like a plot with a single reservation for the so-called 'experts' ".
