Puerto Lumbreras has hosted the funniest and most colorful event of its Fiestas Patronales 2018 program with the celebration of its traditional Carnival Parade.
One of the most anticipated events for Lumbrerenses that this year had the participation of a fortnight of groups.
In this new edition, "Steampunk" won the first prize of 2,200 euros plus trophy.
The second prize of 1,500 euros and trophy went to "Play the piano", and the third prize of 900 euros and a trophy for "Los chichilones, soldaditos de plomo".
The rest of prizes endowed with 150 euros and trophy went to "Havana", organized carrozamás;
"Lollipops", original carrozamás;
"Little Red Riding Hood" carriage made in a traditional way;
"Monster of colors" carrozade thematic more current.
Before starting the parade, the participants were exhibited in the esplanade of the Sports Center of the town from 12.00 to 16.00 hours.
In addition, as a novelty, the Los Chichilones club organized for the first time a storyteller related to its theme, 'El soldadito de plomo', in two sessions, one at 12.30 and the other at 13.00.
The parade began at 4.30 pm with departure at Plaza de la Constitución in a journey that went in the direction of El Cruce, passing through the Rambla de Nogalte to Bar Lirón, and return by Rambla de Nogalte to Calle Mayor to end in avenue Pedro García Rubio.
