Elmunicipio Lumbrerense dressed up in the afternoon yesterday to accompany his Patroness, Our Lady the Virgin of the Rosary, through the main streets of the town.
Dressed in Spanish tiles and blankets, dozens of women, including the Queen of the Holidays 2018, Ana García, the Children's Queen 2018, Carmen Noemí Tenemaza, together with their respective Ladies of Honor, accompanied her on this tour. Start at 7:00 pm in the Plaza de la Iglesia Parroquial.
Local and regional authorities, associations, and numerous lumbrerenses accompanied the Virgin, carried on shoulders by costaleros, through the main streets of the municipality.
As a curious fact, remember that the celebration of the feast of the Virgin of the Rosary, on October 7, goes back to the Catholic Church in 1572. It was established within the liturgy by the Dominican Pope St. Pius V. His successor, Gregory XIII, contributed to the diffusion of the party to institute it in those parishes that had brotherhood.
