This morning the Informative Commission of Urbanism of the City council of Puerto Lumbreras has approved the concession of a license of work for the construction of a residence of majors in Puerto Lumbreras.
The initiative has gone ahead with the vote in favor of PP, the abstention of IU and the vote against PSOE.
The privately owned project is located on a plot of 1,200 square meters on Tómbola street and will have the capacity to house 94 users.
On the first floor common services such as reception, visiting room and waiting room will be enabled.
The remaining floors will be occupied with rooms and common rooms.
The mayor of the town, M ª Angeles Tunisia, stressed that "being a private initiative with public management through the concert of seats, the cost involved in the construction of this center will be assumed by the company and will not affect the coffers municipal or citizens. "
In addition, Tunisia has indicated that "we will work for the Autonomous Community to arrange the places with the IMAS in order that all those elderly people who want to enter this residence can do so, regardless of their economic situation."
The new residence will be adapted to meet all levels of dependency and pathologies that affect the elderly.
In addition to accommodation, the elderly will have a menu of services that will include maintenance with their own kitchen, toilet, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, medical, podiatry, laundry, hairdressing and aesthetics.
On the other hand, users will have the possibility to choose between different types of stay: permanent, weekend, family respite, post-hospital recovery, day and / or night stay.
The mayor of the town has stressed that "the elderly can enjoy the best care with personalized care, at the same time they will have at their disposal a wide range of services and a multidisciplinary team of experts to achieve their well-being."
