The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the president of the Ria Pitá Association, Mª Carmen Martínez, have just signed a collaboration agreement to renew their mutual commitment in the promotion of the flamenco dance culture in the locality.
They will do it, as usual, through the realization of training activities in this artistic discipline, as well as performances in various festive events that take place throughout the year.
In this way, the interest of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras for contributing to this initiative is reflected with its collaboration, both institutional and financial, for the organization and implementation of many actions.
This is the case of the annual Children's Flamenco Festival, the performances at the Fiestas de la Purísima in La Estación-El Esparragal, the annual Flamenco Festival, activities for the elderly group, as well as other events such as the parade of floats in the Patron Saint Festival .
The subsidy received by the Flemish association Lumbrerense amounts to 4,000 euros, in addition to the provision of a place for training and testing of the members of this group.
"Our commitment to this long-established partnership is firm," says Mª Victoria Jerez, "as we consider that they do a commendable job among the young people of our town in the training, but also among the other groups that can enjoy a high level in all the shows they perform ".
