The Chamber of Commerce of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras held last night the 'Business Awards 2018' in which the work of lumbrerenses companies 'Primalum Canales' and 'Marlina Stores' was recognized.
The event, which took place at the Teatro Guerra de Lorca, was attended by the president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Túnez, the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, as well as authorities, businessmen and representatives of economic associations throughout the region.
The company 'Primalum Canales', dedicated to the wholesale trade of metals and metallic minerals, was awarded with the Industry Award 2018. This company began to take shape in 1999, being initially a company dedicated to the marketing and distribution of non-metallic metals. ferrous and, in particular, aluminum.
After experiencing a rapid growth, they considered their emergence in the industrial sector, so in 2005 they started a project for the construction and establishment of an industrial treatment and coating plant for metals, a project that culminated with its operation in 2007.
The objective of this project was to intervene in the elaboration of the product that they commercialized, forming part of its industrial process and giving it the added value that this implied, both in the product itself, for its quality, and in the improvement of the service to its customers. .
The main industrial process carried out in its facilities is the coating of metals, with processes such as the electrostatic application of dust in suspension, or as sublimation.
Additionally and to a lesser extent, it develops the assembly and manufacture of accessory products, among which can be highlighted the sandwich panels or the mosquito net.
At present it maintains regular commercial routes throughout the southern half of the national territory, has its own delegation in the province of Jaén and studies new strategic openings.
Currently he directly employs more than 60 workers.
Among this group of people, Francisco Gázquez Sánchez deserves special mention or, for those who do not identify him as such, "Paco Canales", a resident of Puerto Lumbreras: precursor, founder, current manager and true "alma mater" of this company, who with the support and support from his family (his wife Antonia Mari García Olivares and his sons Sergio and Almudena) and, of course, the involvement of their workers, has led 'Primalum Canales' to what it is today.
By commercial data of 2016 (source INFORMA D & B, SAU), of the companies domiciled in the Region of Murcia, it is already the first company of the region and the fourth of all the Region of Murcia in the sector of the wholesale of metals and metallic minerals.
The second award-winning company lumbrerese was 'Tiendas Marlina' with the Comercio award.
'Marlina' is an expanding company with national suppliers and throughout Europe.
Currently, they have a total of six public service establishments in the municipalities of Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, Pulpí, Águilas, Huércal-Overa and an upcoming opening in Vélez Rubio.
Due to the sale and distribution of wholesale products, the company also has clients in the province of Seville, Cádiz, Albacete and Valencia, among others.
'Marlina' manages a total of 2,000 references of consumer goods of first brands and their own (Marlina and Helcabo) with a movement of more than 8,000 pallets per year serving the distribution and own stores.
