The Women's Association of the Women's Center, in collaboration with the Department of Equality of the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, offers a program of activities with more than a dozen courses and workshops that will be held in the municipality throughout the year.
Specifically, the programmed activities cover various areas related to personal development, healthy habits and art.
The workshops include crafts, painting, relaxation, patchwork or biodanza.
The program also includes yoga, tai-chi, pilates and self-defense courses.
The offer is complemented by guitar, batuka, salsa and bachata classes.
The Councilor for Equal Opportunities, Sonia Lopez, said that "most of the activities have been proposed by the users of the center and are aimed at promoting actions that make it possible to make effective the right to equal treatment and opportunities."
The activities are aimed at men and women over 16 years of age living in Puerto Lumbreras.
The registration period is open, interested people can formalize their enrollment from Monday to Friday in the Women's Center or by phone 968 40 21 60.
In addition, throughout the year various cultural trips, women's meetings and awareness campaigns on gender violence are planned.
For the next month of November, various awareness initiatives are planned for the elimination of violence against women.
Among them stands out the conference "Teach me to love", the competition for protest drawing against macho violence, or the self-defense workshop given by the two-time kickboxing world champion, Mª Carmen Romero.
Finally, Sonia Lopez explained that "the Women's Center offers different initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and prevention of gender violence through dynamic and participatory activities such as talks, courses or workshops aimed at men and women of all ages. ages ".
